Abstract:
A multiple-wall tank according to the present invention comprises an inner tank that is made of a first material, an outer tank that is made of a second material and surrounds the inner tank, and a tubular inner skirt that vertically extends from the outer wall of the inner tank to a foundation structure which is disposed below the outer tank, wherein the inner skirt has an inner tank connection segment that is made of the first material and is joined to the inner tank, an outer tank connection segment that is made of the second material and is joined to the outer tank, and an inter-tank segment that is made of a third material which has a thermal conductivity lower than those of the first material and the second material and is disposed between the inner tank connection segment and the outer tank connection segment.
