Abstract:

Even when a multipolar single-head plug has a large number of poles, it is possible to ensure electrical insulation properties between electrodes, reliably prevent a short-circuit therebetween, and thereby drastically enhance yield. A multipolar single-head plug (1) comprises: a rod electrode (2) exposed at an end thereof; cylindrical electrodes (3a to 3d) provided in the outer circumference of the rod electrode (2) in a concentric fashion and each exposed to the outer circumference at a more base side than the exposed end portion of the rod electrode (2); and an insulator (4) consisting of an insulating portion (41a) between the rod electrode (2) and the cylindrical electrode (3a) and another insulating portions (41b to 41d) between the cylindrical electrodes (3a, 3b), between the cylindrical electrodes (3b, 3c), and between the cylindrical electrodes (3c, 3d). The multipolar single-head plug (1) is integrally formed by an insulating resin that is part of the insulator (4) and used in insert molding. An intermediate portion of at least one of the insulating portions is formed of an insulating material different from the insulating resin used in the insert molding to form electrodeposition coating portions (412b, 412c), insulating tubes (414b, 414c), or the like. The different insulating material is provided so as to cover a predetermined region of the outer circumference of the rod electrode (2) or the cylindrical electrodes (3a, 3b).
