A hand-held power tool having a safe gear-shifting apparatus, comprising: a housing assembly (1), a motor (2), a gearbox end cap (3), a gearbox (4), an output shaft (5), an outermost large gear (6), an outermost small gear (7), a gear locking shaft pin (8), a safe gear-shifting shaft pin (9), a gear-locking push plate (10), a gear-locking synchronization spring (11), a safe gear-shifting spring (12), a safe push rod (13), a limiting rod, a speed change small gear shaft (14), a speed change large gear (15), a large bevel gear (16), a small bevel gear (17), and a grinding wheel protective cover (18). The gear locking shaft pin (8) and the safe gear-shifting shaft pin (9) are arranged parallel to each other in the gearbox (4). The gear-locking push plate (10) is connected to the outermost large gear (6) and the outermost small gear (7). The gear-locking synchronization spring (11) is arranged over the gear locking shaft pin (8). The safe gear-shifting spring (12) is sleeved over the safe gear-shifting shaft pin (9). The power tool features automatic reversion to a low rate of revolution, thus preventing any operational hazard, and is safe and convenient.
