Abstract:
The present invention relates to a mycelial culture of Irpex lacteus and a composition for preventing and treating diabetes comprising same as an active ingredient, wherein the mycelial culture of Irpex lacteus contains a high quantity of extracellular polysaccharides and beta-glucans, which are effective as an antidiabetic, and wherein the culture of same is confirmed to be both safe as a natural material and to have excellent antidiabetic effect, and is thus expected to be usefully employed in the prevention and improvement of diabetes.
