Abstract:
Provided are a myocardial cell proliferation-inducer and a pharmaceutical composition containing any one or more of a polypeptide of (1)-(3) and/or a partial peptide thereof as a novel drug having activity to induce the proliferation of myocardial cells. This pharmaceutical composition can be used suitably in the treatment and/or prevention of heart disease, especially ischemic heart disease. (1) Polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1. (2) Polypeptide having activity to induce proliferation of myocardial cells, comprising an amino acid sequence in which from one to several amino acids in an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 have been deleted, substituted, inserted, or added. (3) Polypeptide having activity to induce proliferation of myocardial cells, showing 80% or greater sequence identity with an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1.
