Abstract:
The present invention provides an industrially excellent production method by which N-benzyl-2-bromo-3-methoxypropionamide can be safely produced in high yield at lower cost. The production method of the present application comprises, in the following order, an amidation step in which diacrylic anhydride is reacted with benzylamine in a solvent to obtain N-benzylacrylamide, a bromination step in which the N-benzylacrylamide is reacted with bromine in a solvent to obtain N-benzyl-2,3-dibromopropionamide, and a methoxylation step in which the N-benzyl-2,3-dibromopropionamide is reacted with methanol in the presence of a base to obtain N-benzyl-2-bromo-3-methoxypropionamide.
