Abstract:
The present invention provides a nano-electrohydrodynamic desalter and a method for simultaneously concentrating and desalinating particles by using the same, the nano-electrohydrodynamic desalter comprising: a microchannel including a plurality of flow paths through which a solution can move; and a nanochannel in which an ion-selective membrane is connected to a portion of the microchannel such that an ion depletion zone can be formed by an ion concentration polarization (ICP) phenomenon, wherein the nano-electrohydrodynamic desalter has a structure in which the microchannel is stacked on the nanochannel, an electric field is applied to the microchannel such that the ICP phenomenon occurs in the surrounding adjacent to the ion-selective membrane, thereby allowing the particles to be separated from the solution, and the particles are discharged through any one of the plurality of flow paths such that concentration and desalination can be performed simultaneously.
