Abstract:
The present invention relates to a material for producing artificial feathers and to a production method therefor. The invention provides a polyolefin/clay nanocomposite material for producing artificial feathers which comprises from 80-99 % by weight of polypropylene, from 1-20 % by weight of organic clay and from 0-20 % by weight of a compatibiliser, and a production method therefor, as well as artificial feathers and a badminton shuttlecock which comprise the polyolefin/clay nanocomposite material for producing artificial feathers, and the invention makes it possible to produce a badminton shuttlecock having flight characteristics close to those of a natural shuttlecock by providing artificial feathers which are not only endowed with outstanding durability, production amenability and price stability but are also endowed with a form, density and strength similar to natural feathers, by using a polyolefin/clay nanocomposite material having the optimum constituents and composition for an artificial feather material.
