Abstract:
A narrow-gauge hopper car comprises a running gear (2), a car compartment (9), and a car frame (10). The car compartment (9) is connected and fixed to a top portion of the car frame (10). The running gear (2) is connected and fixed to a bottom portion of the car frame (10). The running gear (2) comprises wheels (202) and a wheel axle (203). The wheels (202) are installed at two opposite ends of the wheel axle (203). Moreover, a gauge formed between the wheels (202) at the same wheel axle (203) is less than a standard gauge. The narrow-gauge hopper car exerts less load on an axle thereof and requires a smaller area for transportation, thereby reducing rail construction costs.
