Abstract:
A navigation device having a map data storage section (11a) that stores map data in
which data representing a guidance point includes a guide map storage position pointer
(20); a guide map data storage section (11b) that stores a plurality of guide map
data for drawing different views as guide maps, the different views being drawn
relative to a single guidance point; a position detection section (13) that detects
the current position; a situation acquisition section (14) that acquires a current
situation; a processing section (17) that, when the current position detected
has reached the guidance point indicated by map data acquired from the map data
storage section, acquires guide map data corresponding to the situation acquired
by the situation acquisition section, the processing section (17) acquiring
the guide map data based on the position of the guide map data indicated by the guide
map storage position pointer of the guidance point, and composes the acquired
guide map data and the map data to create display data; and a display output section
(15) that displays a map and a guide map based on the display data created by the
processing section.
