A near field communication (NFC) tag comprising an antenna having an inner loop portion coupled with an outer loop portion, and an integrated circuit chip attached to the inner loop portion or outer loop portion of the antenna; wherein the inner and outer loop portions of the antenna are arranged to increase a coupling range of the tag with an external tag reader.
