Abstract:
The present invention relates to a negative electrode active material for secondary batteries, which comprises silicate composite particles each containing a silicate phase, silicon particles that are dispersed in the silicate phase, and a carbon phase, and which is configured such that: the silicate phase contains at least one element that is selected from the group consisting of alkali metals and alkaline earth metals; and at least a part of the carbon phase covers at least parts of the surfaces of the silicon particle.
