Abstract:
The disclosed negative electrode active material for secondary batteries comprises silicate composite particles that contain a silicate phase and silicon particles dispersed in the silicate phase. The peak in the energy-loss near-edge structure (ELNES) for the oxygen K-edge for the silicate phase/silicon particle interface is shifted 2.0 eV to 3.0 eV to the lower energy side relative to the peak in the energy-loss near-edge structure for the oxygen K-edge for the silicate phase. A secondary battery having excellent charge/discharge cycle characteristics can be realized by using the negative electrode active material according to the present invention.
