Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a negative electrode for a nonaqueous-electrolyte secondary cell, the negative electrode being predoped by immersion in a solution containing ions of an alkali metal and a catalyst, wherein the weight and volume of the negative electrode tend not to increase due to the predoping, and it is possible to further increase initial charge/discharge efficiency. A negative electrode for achieving this objective includes a negative-electrode mix layer containing at least: an alloy-based material (A) that includes silicon or tin capable of absorbing an alkali metal or an alkali earth metal; carbon particles (B); a carboxylic-acid-salt-containing polymer (C); and a straight-chain polyphenylene compound (D), the ratio of the alloy-based material (A) to the total of the alloy-based material (A) and the carbon particles (B) being greater than or equal to 10 vol% and less than 60 vol%, the amount of carboxylic-acid-salt-containing polymer (C) in the negative-electrode mix layer being 4-13 mass% of the total mass of the negative-electrode mix layer, and the degree of neutralization of the carboxylic-acid-salt-containing polymer (C) being 50% or more.
