Title:
NETWORK BOOT SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/046105
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To alleviate a decline in activation speed or operation of a terminal even in the second or subsequent activations of a terminal in private mode, wherein the terminal directly writes to a virtual disk. [Solution] A network boot system (100) comprises: a network boot server (10) which provides, as a virtual disk (22b), a disk image including an operating system which runs upon a terminal, and a terminal (20a) further comprising a storage device (21a), which are connected via a network (30). The OS comprises a read cache mechanism which stores in the storage device, as cache data, data which is read out from the server. The network boot system (100) further comprises version management data (M), and an overwrite management table (T2). When the terminal is activated the second and subsequent times in private mode, in which the terminal writes directly to the virtual disk, the read cache mechanism overwrites the version management data to the overwrite management table, and activates the read cache while not allowing use of the cache data including the change.
