Abstract:
Provided are isolated Clostridium phytofermentans biocatalysts, Clostridium phytofermentans Q.12 and Clostridium phytofermentans Q.13, that can produce high yields of products. Also provided are primers useful to identify and quantify any strain of Clostridium phytofermentans. Further provided are methods of using the biocatalysts and primers to degrade organic material and for use in industrial processes.
