Abstract:
The present invention discloses new medicinal use of natural plant polyphenol, that is the use of natural plant polyphenol in preparing medicament and health care product for treating and/or preventing transmissible spongiform encephalopathy induced by prion, particularly Mad Cow Disease, sheep scrapie, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, and new variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. The present invention also discloses medicament and/or health care product which contains natural plant polyphenol as active ingredient against prion and is useful for treating and/or preventing transmissible spongiform encephalopathy induced by prion, particularly for treating or preventing Mad Cow Disease, sheep scrapie, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, and new variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
