According to an aspect of the present invention, a Ni-based alloy core for a coated arc welding rod has a chemical composition containing, in mass%, 0.0100-0.0800% of C, 0.010-0.800% of Si, 0.010-1.800% of Mn, 15.0-28.0% of Mo, 2.5-8.0% of W, 0.10-1.20% of Cu, 0.002-0.120% of Ta, and 65.0-82.3% of Ni, with the remainder comprising impurities, and includes other optional elements, wherein the value of X is 0.010-0.160%.
