Abstract:
Provided are a noise processing device and noise processing method whereby it is possible to carry out a band-specific noise reduction process using a multiresolution transform, and to increase cost-benefit performance when adding a desired noise. The noise processing device comprises: a multiresolution transform unit (32) which carries out upon a source image a multiresolution transform process including image size reduction, and generates a plurality of band images of different resolutions; a noise reduction unit (34) which carries out a noise reduction process upon the band images; and an inverse multiresolution transform unit (38) which carries out, upon the band images having undergone the noise reduction process, an inverse multiresolution transform process including image size increase and a noise adding process, and generates an output image of the same resolution as the source image, where the noise adding process is carried out at a lower resolution than the source image.
