Abstract:
Provided is a non-oriented electromagnetic steel sheet demonstrating low iron loss at high frequencies, without adding a large amount of an alloy element such as Cr that reduces the magnetic flux density, or reducing sheet thickness that lowers productivity. The non-oriented electromagnetic steel sheet has a prescribed component composition that includes Co at 0.0005-0.0050 mass%; includes, in the range from a surface to a depth of 1/20 the sheet thickness, N that is present in the form of AlN at no more than 0.003 mass%; has, on the surface, an oxide layer including Fe and Al and/or Si; and has, at the interface between the oxide layer and the base iron, an oxide film comprising an Al oxide and/or a Si oxide.
