Title:
NON-SLIP PEDESTRIAN CROSSING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2007138140
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
A pedestrian crossing having a durable non-slip ceramic, brightly coloured silica agglomerate, stone or concrete surface and being specially illuminated along the edges of the strips thereof, where advisable. The ceramic parts can be placed in the roadway or on the same level as the sidewalk simply by using mortar. The parts are embedded only at the beginning and end of a pass. Any paint can be removed from the roadway using a micro-milling machine or similar tool to enable said ceramic parts to be put in place. Puddle formation can be avoided by the use of drainage means for roadway runoff. The desired grip can be achieved by means of a composition containing fluorinated fluids with a low HF concentration and a fluorinated non-ionic or anionic surfactant. The resulting chemical attack can subsequently be halted by washing the treated surface and using suction to remove any trace of the applied substances. The parts can be of various sizes.
