Abstract:
Disclosed in the present description are a non-uniform membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell and a fuel cell. The non-uniform membrane electrode assembly comprises a proton exchange membrane-based membrane electrode and catalyst layers located on surfaces of two sides of the proton exchange membrane-based membrane electrode, and the catalyst layer on the surface of at least one side is divided into a flow channel catalyst region and a rib plate catalyst region. The flow channel catalyst region and the rib plate catalyst region respectively correspond to a flow channel position of and a rib plate position of the membrane electrode assembly, the interior of the flow channel catalyst region is provided with a catalyst layer, and the interior of the rib plate catalyst region is not provided with a catalyst layer or the catalyst loading amount of a catalyst layer arranged in the rib plate catalyst region is smaller than that of the catalyst layer of the flow channel catalyst region. Compared with a membrane electrode having a uniform catalyst loading amount and a uniform thickness, a non-uniform membrane electrode can obtain higher current density, and the current density can be improved by up to 30%, which is remarkably beneficial to the improvement of the power density of a fuel cell.
