Title:
NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/002611
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. This method comprises the formation of a cell which is provided with a positive electrode that contains a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode that contains a negative electrode active material, and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution that contains a nonaqueous solvent and an oxalatoborate compound. The method also comprises the formation of a coating film, which is derived from the oxalatoborate compound and contains boron and oxalate ions, on the negative electrode by charging the cell. This method further comprises a modification treatment by which the ratio of the mole number (mB) of the boron content to the mole number (mA) of the oxalate ion content in the coating film is increased. One preferred embodiment of the method for increasing the mB/mA ratio is to subject the cell to an aging treatment wherein the cell is maintained at a temperature of 60°C or more, while causing the cell to have an SOC of 82% or more and/or a voltage of 3.9 V or more.
