Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which has higher output characteristics than conventional nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries even after storage at high temperatures in a charged state.
The present invention is a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which is provided with a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a nonaqueous electrolyte, and wherein: an active material of the positive electrode comprises secondary particles, each of which is composed of aggregated primary particles that are formed of a lithium-containing transition metal oxide; each secondary particle has a surface layer region in which Mg is unevenly distributed and solid-solved; and a W compound adheres to the surfaces of the secondary particles and/or to the surfaces of the primary particles.
