Title:
NOVEL ANTIBODY HAVING EXCELLENT BINDING STRENGTH WITH RESPECT TO HUMAN PRION PROTEINS, AND USE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2023/146035
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel antibody binding to prion proteins. According to the present invention, the antibody can bind with high specificity to prion proteins themselves and to cancer cells in which the prion proteins are expressed, exhibits excellent affinity even for prion proteins in low concentrations, and, in particular, exhibits excellent binding reactivity with respect to human prion proteins. Additionally, it has been identified that the antibody exhibits the effects of inhibiting the proliferation of cancer cells and anticancer drug-resistant cancer and inducing cell death and penetrates into cancer cells, and thus can be effectively used for various applications such as prion protein detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancer in which prion proteins are overexpressed, and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).
