HEM972 strain (KCTC14144BP); a composition for improving the intestinal environment comprising same; and a composition for treating or preventing an intestinal disease. A Bifidobacterium bifidum
HEM972 strain (KCTC14144BP), according to one embodiment of the present application, promotes the production of beneficial short-chain fatty acids, such as butyric acid and propionic acid, and suppresses the production of harmful short-chain fatty acids, such as isobutyric acid, thereby improving the intestinal environment or preventing or treating an intestinal disease. Accordingly, the strain (KCTC14144BP) can be applied to a pharmaceutical composition, a food composition, a functional health food composition, a feed composition, and the like.
