Abstract:
A bisazo compound represented by general formula (I) and an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photoreceiving layer containing said bisazo compound, wherein two of R�1? to R�4? groups represent each an azo group having a coupler residue and bonded to the diphenoquinone skeleton directly or through a phenyl ring, while the two remaining groups may be the same or different from each other and each represents hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, hydroxy, alkoxy, carboxy, aryl, halogeno or cyano, and Z represents either oxygen or sulfur.
