Abstract:
The present invention relates to a compound represented by the following chemical formula 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a composition for preventing or treating STAT3-mediated diseases containing the same as an active ingredient. The compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof remarkably inhibits the expression of interleukin-1β (IL-1β) or interleukin-6 (IL-6), and thus can be useful for preventing or treating rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative arthritis, bronchospasm, allergy, inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases, destructive bone diseases, infectious diseases, degenerative diseases, necrotic diseases and inflammatory periodontal diseases caused by the activation of the STAT3 pathway by IL-1β or IL-6.
