Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel cyclosporin A hydroxylase derived from Sebekia benihana, to a gene (CYP21) coding for the enzyme, to a recombinant expression vector cloned by the gene coding for the enzyme, and to a transformant which has been genetically transformed by means of the recombinant expression vector. CYP21 is a novel gene that has not been previously reported and is a CYP gene that is specific to cyclosporin A. The cyclosporin A hydroxylase of the present invention can be used to advantage in immune reactions involving cyclosporin A by being produced in volume by means of genetic recombination.
