Abstract:
Using a PCR primer or a hybridization probe containing a DNA encoding a novel protein (DEDD2) shown by the following (A) or (B) or a part of the sequence thereof, the expression of the DEDD2 gene is examined so as to diagnose renal cancer, colon cancer, prostatic cancer, acute myeloid leukemia or chronic myeloid leukemia. (A) A protein having the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2. (B) A protein having an amino acid sequence derived from the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2 by substitution, deletion, insertion or addition of one to several amino acids and having an activity of inducing cell death.
