Abstract:
Disclosed is a metasurface unit-based novel H-plane SIW horn antenna, comprising an upper metal layer, a lower metal layer, an intermediate dielectric substrate, and multiple metal cylinders, the multiple metal cylinders being connected to the upper metal layer and the lower metal layer. The H-plane SIW horn antenna is composed of a coaxial feed structure, and an SIW transmission line part and an SIW horn opening angle part that are integrated on the intermediate dielectric substrate; an isosceles trapezoidal notch is provided in both the upper metal layer and the lower metal layer of the SIW horn opening angle part, and a layer of a rectangular metasurface unit is attached to upper and lower surfaces of the intermediate dielectric substrate corresponding to the notch. The metasurface unit not only implements impedance matching between a feed source and a free space, to obtain a relatively wide impedance bandwidth, but also changes an equivalent refractive index of the horn opening angle part, so that waves are concentrated to a center of the horn antenna, thereby reducing a half-power beam width of an E plane of the horn antenna and further improving gain of the horn antenna.
