The present invention relates to a novel polyimide-type polymer and a preparation method therefor and, specifically, to a novel polyimide-type polymer and a preparation method therefor, wherein the novel polyimide-type polymer comprises guanidine as a monomer and is specifically degradable under a protogenic solvent. The novel polyimide-type polymer of the present invention is specifically degradable under a protogenic solvent, and thus can be helpfully used in the development of a substance that can be intelligently degraded in biologically tolerable conditions, and such a specific degradation property can be used to induce a specific pattern through the mixing with an existing non-degradable polymer, the formation of a copolymer, or the like.
