Title:
NOVEL THERMOPHILIC BACTERIUM AND SOIL BLEND CONTAINING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/093042
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
It is intended to provide a novel thermophilic bacterium which is isolated and identified from a stevia herb and has been deposited under the deposition number FERM P-20039; a compost containing this thermophilic bacterium at a concentration of 1×106 cfu/g or above which is produced by using the thermophilic bacterium; and a soil blend for growing plants which contains this thermophilic bacterium at a high concentration of 1×105 cfu/g or above in a material useful in soil for agricultural use. By growing field crops in soil containing the above thermophilic bacterium, the yield can be elevated and, at the same time, residual pesticides and nitrate-nitrogen contained in the crops can be reduced, thereby providing crops that can be taken without worries.
