Title:
NOVEL USE AS TAG
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/000972
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a novel tag which is used for the modification of a target protein. Also disclosed is a means for capturing the target protein using the tag. Specifically, study is made on a novel tag for a protein based on the knowledge about such a molecular mechanism that a DNA-binding protein can bind to DNA. As a result, it is found that when a DNA-bindable amino acid sequence of a DNA-binding protein, particularly a DNA-binding transcription factor or DNA-binding nuclear receptor is used as a tag for a target protein, a synthesized fusion protein of the tag and the target protein can be captured readily, whereby the target protein can be purified, detected or labeled. This finding leads to the accomplishment of the invention.
