Abstract:
One example of this disclosure is an object detection device comprising: a transmission unit for transmitting a transmission wave toward a road surface; a reception unit for receiving, as a reception wave, a reflection wave resulting from the reflection of the transmission wave by an object; a CFAR processing unit for carrying out CFAR processing using the values of a first signal to be processed based on reception waves that are for each of a plurality of the transmission waves and have been received at a prescribed detection timing and values obtained by averaging the values of a second signal to be processed based on reception waves received during prescribed periods before and after the detection timing, and thereby acquiring a CFAR signal for the detection timing; and an estimation unit for estimating the type of the road surface on the basis of the average signal level and the degree of dispersion of a plurality of the CFAR signals.
