Abstract:
An object sensing device (1) is provided with a signal generating unit (4), a drive unit (2), an object determination unit (8), and a drive control unit (3). The signal generating unit generates a pulse signal so that a code for differentiating ultrasonic waves is included therein. The drive unit drives a transmission/reception unit by an electric current or a voltage in accordance with the pulse signal generated by the signal generating unit. The object determination unit compares the code included in a reception wave and a code included in the pulse wave, determines whether the reception wave is a reflected wave of an ultrasonic wave transmitted from the transmission/reception unit, and determines whether an object is present in a sensing range on the basis of the amplitude of the reception wave. The drive control unit reduces the electric current or voltage inputted to the transmission/reception unit by the drive unit when a predetermined amplitude rising time has elapsed.
