Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to provide an obstacle detection apparatus with which the processing time for detecting an obstacle can be kept within a prescribed range without limiting the detection area. An obstacle detection apparatus (110) performs obstacle detection using one or a plurality of external sensors (120) that monitor the surroundings of a train, and comprises: an object detection unit (111) that detects an object from sensor information acquired by the external sensors (120); a detection result selection unit (112) that selects an object detection result detected by the object detection unit (111); and an obstacle recognition unit (113) that determines whether an object is an obstacle on the basis of the object detection result selected by the detection result selection unit (112), wherein the detection result selection unit (112) selects the object detection result within a range of a number of detections that allow for the process by the obstacle recognition unit (113) to be completed within a prescribed target processing time.
