Abstract:

[Problem] To provide the following: an oil mist inhibitor that effectively suppresses the oil mist produced from a lubricant during treatment with the lubricant and that does not impair the purpose of treatment with the lubricant or the effect of the treatment; a lubricant that contains this oil mist inhibitor; and an oil mist reduction method that uses this oil mist inhibitor. [Solution] An oil mist inhibitor comprises a silicone fluid composition that can be uniformly blended with a dimethylpolysiloxane oil having a kinematic viscosity at 25°C of 10.0 mm2/s. The oil mist inhibitor has the property of increasing the maximum lamella length of the dimethylpolysiloxane oil by at least 5%, by adding 1.0 mass% of the silicone fluid composition to the dimethylpolysiloxane oil.
