Provided are an onboard system, a relay apparatus, an onboard apparatus, and a program replacing method with which recovery from a problem of an application program for the onboard apparatus can be expected.　In the onboard system according to one embodiment, a plurality of onboard apparatuses are connected via a network, the onboard system being provided with: a detection unit that detects a problem relating to a program executed by an onboard apparatus; a search unit that searches for another onboard apparatus having a program alternative to the program with respect to which the problem has been detected by the detection unit; and an instruction unit that gives to the other onboard apparatus searched for by the search unit an instruction of transmitting the alternative program. The onboard apparatus has a replacing unit that receives the alternative program transmitted, by the other onboard apparatus, in accordance with the instruction, and that replaces the program with respect to which a problem has been detected with the alternative program.
