Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method for manufacturing, with high productivity, an open carbon fiber bundle having a good open state, excellent resin impregnation, and excellent compatibility to a matrix resin. [Solution] This open carbon fiber bundle contains particles which have a volume average particle diameter D50 of 1-13 µm and a volume average particle diameter D90 of 13 µm or less. This method for manufacturing the open carbon fiber bundle includes a step for bringing the carbon fiber bundle into contact with a fiber-opening solution which contains the particles and an organic solvent.
