Abstract:
An absorption refrigerator wherein use is made of a lithium bromide/water/1,4-dioxane operating medium conspicuously different from the conventional generally employed lithium bromide/water operating medium in properties such as vapor pressure characteristics, solubility and vapor pressure of cooling medium. Thus, with respect to a single-effect absorption refrigerator, there have been realized equipment miniaturization/cost reduction, air refrigeration, cold heat generation at freezing point and lowering of heat source temperature. As a result, cold heat can be obtained by means of 100°C or below low-temperature heat source without the need to use high-grade thermal energy/high-temperature heat source.
