Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing an operation input device to be used in a vehicle and the like and enabling operation information to be input while barely changing the position of an operation unit. The problem is solved by an operation input device installed in a vehicle, characterized by having a support section attached to the vehicle, an operation member supported by the support section and to be operated by a person, an operation detection unit for detecting an operation performed on the operation member, a haptic feedback generation unit disposed inside the operation member and providing haptic feedback to the person, and a control unit for performing control to cause the haptic feedback generation unit to generate haptic feedback when the operation detection unit detects that an operation is performed, wherein the operation member is disposed so as to extend from the support section in a first direction intersecting with the traveling direction of the vehicle, and the operation member is restricted from rotating due to pivot operations about a rotational axis defined by a direction intersecting with the first direction.
