Abstract:
[Problem] To effectively authenticate, without increased cost, operators who operate different types of important operation units, and furthermore, to allow certain target objects to be operated on via a personal digital assistant. [Solution] An operator authentication operation system which ascertains the authentication information of an operator of an operation unit, and which allows an operation to be performed by use of the operation unit via a personal digital assistant owned by the operator, wherein: the personal digital assistant has an "authentication information retention means" which retains specific authentication information, and a "communication unit" which can transmit the authentication information to the operation unit and communicate with the operation unit so as to exchange information relating to operational manipulation; the operation unit has an "authentication information decoding means" which decodes the authentication information transmitted via the "communication unit" by the "authentication information retention means" of the personal digital assistant, and which, if the decoded authentication information matches previously retained verification information, transmits a signal indicating the match to the personal digital assistant; and the operator authentication operation system allows a target object to be operated on by use of the operation unit via the personal digital assistant if the "authentication information decoding means" transmits, to the personal digital assistant, the signal indicating that the specific authentication information received from the personal digital assistant matches the verification information.
