Abstract:
An optical amplifier, an optical amplification method, and a fiber-optic communication system, which belong to the technical field of fiber-optic communication. The optical amplifier comprises a first pumping module (1), a first wavelength division multiplexer (2), and a doped optical fiber (3). The first pumping module (1) is used for outputting Raman pump light; the first wavelength division multiplexer (2) is used for coupling the Raman pump light into the doped optical fiber (3); the doped optical fiber (3) is used for absorbing the Raman pump light, amplifying and outputting signal light input into the optical amplifier, and outputting the remaining Raman pump light to a link optical fiber (01) connected to the optical amplifier, said remaining pump light being used as pump light in the link optical fiber (01). The doped optical fiber (3) and the link optical fiber (01) share the Raman pump light, which improves the utilization rate of the pump light.
