Title:
OPTICAL CARD READER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1986/000159
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Use is made of an optical card (11) in which data signals are recorded on a plurality of parallel tracks (T) such that they can be optically read out, and marks (MX), (MY) that can be optically read out are formed at positions in parallel with the tracks (T) but distant from each other. A light detector element (21) for reading data signals and detector elements (22), (23) for reading marks, are rotated along the lengthwise direction of tracks by rotary means which is controlled based upon the outputs of the detector elements (22), (23). Therefore, data signals from the tracks (T) of the optical card (11) can be reliably read out even if the optical card (11) and the reading unit are mechanically imprecise.
