Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an optical detection device which is equipped with a polarizer having a metasurface structure and which is advantageous for appropriately converging polarized beams in entering beams onto corresponding pixels. [Solution] An optical detection device comprises: a polarization control unit that includes a plurality of two-dimensionally arrayed microstructures and that selectively emits a plurality of polarized beams in entering beams; a photoelectric conversion unit that includes a plurality of pixels that receive the polarized beams; and a converging unit that is positioned between the polarization control unit and the photoelectric conversion unit and that converges the polarized beams onto corresponding pixels.
