Abstract:

An optical disc (10) comprises a center (16), an outer periphery (20) and a metal layer (24) between the centre and the outer periphery. A tag (30) comprising a radio frequency transponder (34,36) is located in a region immediately adjacent the outer periphery. This arrangement facilitates reading the transponder (34,36) with an external reader when a plurality of discs (10) are stacked one on top of the other.
