Abstract:
An optical element 1 comprises a first layer (A1) and a second layer (A2) facing the first layer (A1). The first layer (A1) includes a plurality of first structures (B1) each having optical anisotropy. When reflecting light entering from the first layer (A1), the second layer (A2) reflects the light while maintaining the incidence and reflection optical polarization states of light. The first layer (A1) changes the optical phase of light exiting therefrom toward the second layer (A2) relative to the optical phase of light incident on the first layer (A1) from outside the first layer (A1) in accordance with the alignment direction of the plurality of first structures (B1). The first layer (A1) changes the optical phase of light exiting therefrom toward the outside of the first layer (A1) relative to the optical phase of light incident on the first layer (A1) from the second layer (A2) in accordance with the alignment direction of the plurality of first structures (B1).
