Abstract:
The present invention provides: an optical element which can be easily suppressed in decrease of the optical characteristics; and a method for producing this optical element. The present invention provides an optical element 10 which comprises a light-transmitting substrate 1 and a thin film layer 2 that is arranged on a main surface of the light-transmitting substrate 1, wherein the thin film layer 2 contains inorganic nanoparticles 3 and an organic silicon compound and/or an organic fluorine compound, while having a refractive index of 1.6 or more.
