Title:
OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTION STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2022/004220
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An optical fiber connection structure according to one embodiment is provided with: a multi-core fiber; a plurality of single-core fibers arranged in parallel in a direction orthogonal to a longitudinal direction; a first lens having a focal length of f1 (mm); and a second lens having a focal length of f2 (mm). The placement of the respective center positions of cores in a cross section orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the multi-core fiber and the placement of the respective center positions of cores in cross sections orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the plurality of single-core fibers are similar in shape. The pitch between the cores of the multi-core fiber is denoted by P1 (μm), the mode field diameter at a first end face of each of the cores is denoted by MFD1 (μm), the pitch between the cores of the plurality of single-core fibers is denoted by P2 (μm), the mode field diameter of light at a second end face of each of the cores is denoted by MFD2 (μm), and (P1/P2)×0.9 ≤ f1/f2 ≤ (P1/P2)×1.1 and (P1/P2)×0.9 ≤ MFD1/MFD2 ≤ (P1/P2)×1.1 are satisfied.
